Orsolya Székely, as Accountability Mechanism Secretary under the applicable framework on March 7, 2025, has granted the Parties involved in a Vietnam dispute resolution case an additional six months for the dispute resolution process. All Parties involved in the case requested more time to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
The case involves the Vietnam Coastal Cities Sustainable Environmental Project. The World Bank-financed project’s objective is to increase access to sanitation services and improve the operational performance of sanitation utilities in the Project Cities.
The Accountability Mechanism’s operating procedures allow for a one-year period for all parties to reach a resolution, with a six-month extension period possible. Szekely informed the World Bank Board of Executive Directors of the extension on March 7, 2025.
