Board Resolutions

The Accountability Mechanism (AM) was established by the Board of Executive Directors in September 2020. The Board made changes to the structure and functioning of the AM in a Resolution approved on March 7, 2025.

The AM operates with two parallel entities: the Inspection Panel, originally established in 1993 and operationalized in 1994, and the Dispute Resolution Service, created in 2020 and operationalized in October 2021.

Operating Procedures

On December 5, 2022, the Accountability Mechanism Operating Procedures were issued, which define how the mechanism works, and regulate the service offered to Requesters and Borrowers who choose dispute resolution to settle their differences.

On November 20, 2025, the Inspection Panel and Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) updated their Operating Procedures to reflect the changes to the structure of the AM approved by the Board of Executive Directors on January 8, 2025, enabling the Panel and DRS to operate as two parallel entities of the AM.
